Recently I had the pleasure of photographing for Oregon Tilth Magazine. They wrote a wonderful feature article about The Food Project – a nonprofit farming organization in the Boston area that empowers local youth by teaching them through sustainable farming and social justice workshops. I also had the privilege of being The Food Project’s CSA Manager for 2 years when I was living in Massachusetts, so this was a wonderful experience to come full circle, telling the organization’s inspiring story visually. One of my favorite portraits from the day even made it on the magazine cover!
Each year The Food Project works with over 120 teens and thousands of volunteers to farm on 70 acres in and around Boston. Over 60% of produce grown at The Food Project is donated to hunger relief. This article features stories of teens whose lives have been impacted by the program. The hard copy is photographed below, but you can read the online version here. I’m so thankful to Oregon Tilth for featuring so many of my photos in this beautiful 12-page spread.
